DAZN, things are going wrong!

Three months after its launch as the main broadcaster of Ligue 1, DAZN is struggling to attract subscribers in France. With less than 500,000 registered subscribers, far from the objective of 1.5 million set by the company, the British platform was hoping for a boost with the OM-PSG Classic.

However, despite the appeal of this poster, the match did not generate the 90,000 new subscriptions hoped for. In comparison, Prime Video quickly attracted 1.7 million fans in its first year, while Mediapro, despite its failure, had 600,000 subscribers.

An uncertain future for DAZN in Ligue 1

This disappointing departure raises the concern of Len Blavatnik, owner of DAZN, who could choose to terminate the contract with the LFP from December 1, 2025 if the objectives are not achieved. In addition, piracy continues to be rampant, with more than 150,000 spectators following the Classic via Telegram.

DAZN could thus withdraw after only two seasons, a new blow for French football in search of stability.
