IMG Credit: WWEBig drop. WWE has been undergoing a variety of changes to its television broadcasts in recent months and those changes are continuing in recent weeks. This has included some of the shows getting even longer than they ever have before. However, one of those changes is not going to be permanent and will be reversed. Now we know when that is going to be taking place.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: You Might Be Seeing A Former WWE Personality In AEW Again
Last week, SmackDown expanded to three hours a week for the first time in its twenty five year history. However, this week, WWE COO Triple H announced that the change would not be permanent and that the show would be dropping back to two hours a week in the near future. According to Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston on Twitter by way of Cagesideseats.com, the change will be coming in June, which had been previously reported by other sources.

Opinion: This is where things are more than a bit odd, as WWE does not often shorten its weekly shows, but at the same time, having the show drop back down to two hours would have some benefits. If nothing else, it takes some pressure off of the promotion and the wrestlers, who are not going to have to present as much television content every week. SmackDown is going to feel big for a bit but the change coming so soon is quite the surprise.
