Drew McIntyre’s social media game has evolved into a potent force, characterized by his sharp wit and ability to roast fellow wrestlers like CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Despite his recent setback at WrestleMania 40, McIntyre shows no signs of easing up on his trolling antics. In fact, he stated that CM Punk is past his prime.
The rivalry between McIntyre and Punk reached new heights at WrestleMania 40, where Punk blindsided McIntyre after his match with Seth Rollins. This surprise attack allowed Damian Priest to capitalize by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and seizing the title. McIntyre’s betrayal not only led to him losing the championship but also fueled his thirst for vengeance against Punk.
Since then, McIntyre and CM Punk have engaged in a war of words, escalating their feud with each passing week. This included the fact that McIntyre used an Eminem-inspired shot as well.
Today, CM Punk announced his return to WWE video games as part of WWE 2K24 and insisted that McIntyre play as him. Drew McIntyre took to Twitter and responded to Punk by calling him washed. He didn’t stop there as he pointed out how he made the likes of Seth Rollins, Jey Uso and Damian Priest bring out the best in themselves as well.
”Seth Rollins – took himself beyond the limit against me
Jey Uso – Had to use more than 2 moves against me
CM Punk – Is showing he ain’t washed (he is) against me
Damian Priest – Finally proved he has some chops… against me
I’m the one setting the bar on Raw. I’m bringing out the best in others. The Champion without my championship.
Stop me when I’m telling lies.”
CM Punk’s scathing promo against McIntyre also set the stage for their future feud as well. Fans are eagerly anticipating Punk’s return due to the long-awaited showdown between him and McIntyre, so we’ll have to see when they will finally clash.
