Drew McIntyre sends Jinder Mahal some words of encouragement following his WWE release.

On April 19, WWE released Jinder Mahal, bringing the former WWE Champion’s time with the company to an end.

Drew McIntyre then took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on Mahal’s release. He shared a picture of the duo from their time in Three Man Band (3MB) and said, “We showed them once. Now show them again, brother.”

McIntyre and Mahal have followed somewhat similar paths in their careers. They were paired up in 3MB along with Heath Slater. WWE released McIntyre in 2014, and he went on to reinvent himself on the independent scene and in TNA. McIntyre then returned to WWE in 2017, and he won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36. He remains one of the company’s top stars to this day.

Meanwhile, WWE released Mahal in 2014. He returned to the company in 2016 and captured the WWE Championship at WWE Backlash 2017. However, by the time 2024 began, he was rarely utilized. Mahal had a brief resurgence when he returned to RAW in January and had a segment with The Rock. He also challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. He last wrestled in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 5 episode of WWE SmackDown.
