Dustin Rhodes is considered a veteran in professional wrestling with decades of experience and is widely respected for his contributions to the industry.

Debuting on September 13, 1988, with Championship Wrestling From Florida, Rhodes gained fame in WWE as Goldust, a character that pushed boundaries and made a significant impact.

Following his years in WWE, Rhodes moved to the independent circuit before becoming an integral part of AEW since its inception in 2019 and has remained a cornerstone for the company since then, delivering some of the most spectacular in-ring bouts against top talent of the professional wrestling world.

Recently, a user on X highlighted the rumours that Dustin Rhodes is leaving AEW after his contract expires in September. While The Natural One did confirm his deal coming up, he made it absolutely clear that his in-ring days were not over via his X. Rhodes further stated that he wished to retire on his own terms and hoped for negotiations with Tony Khan and AEW to go well.

“Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world.

The only things that matter to me are: taking care of my family first and foremost, and finishing up when I am ready, and how I envision my retirement.

So hold off guys, This biz is my life and I love doing it for you, while still having fun and able. #KeepSteppin and thank you all for your continued love and support!🤘🏼❤️.”

Moreover, veterans like The Undertaker believe Dustin Rhodes deserves the honour of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which seems unlikely until his departure from AEW. With his deal indeed coming up, we will have to wait and see if Dustin Rhodes can negotiate a new contract with Tony Khan and continue to do what he loves.

Do you think Dustin Rhodes will be able to re-sign from AEW following the expiration of his contract in September? Sound off in the comments!
