Dylan O’Brien is getting honest about his attempt to star in Frozen 2. The 33-year-old Saturday Night actor recalled his failed audition for the 2019 animated film while on Late Night With Seth Meyers. When host Seth Meyers asked if he had high hopes for getting the part, Dylan revealed: “No, because I knew that I probably wasn’t going to get it.” Keep reading to find out more… While he didn’t say which character he was auditioning for, he reminded Seth and the audience that the Frozen films are very musicals requiring actors with singing ability. “They’re looking for multitalented, multi-hyphenate people who can act and sing,” he explained. “And I didn’t check, to be honest, probably either.” Despite the fact he knew he “can’t sing,” he decided to audition for the part because he doesn’t “always feel like a real actor.” “This poor woman,” he went on to say of the casting director. “I remember, actually — this is a specific detail — she asked me, painfully, if I could get to the chorus because she needed to see if I had a certain range.” He explained he had been “swimming in the first verse a little bit…and then I went higher, and it was really bad. I knew. She knew. It’s okay.” “Did she know you knew?” Seth asked. “I think so, because when she said to me, ‘Okay, okay’… She said two ‘okays.’ I’ll never forget it. And then she said, ‘Thank you for coming in. I think we’d probably need a bit of a stronger singer,’ and I was already just nodding, going, ‘Yeah, I know.’ I was like, ‘Thanks for having me,’” he recalled. “I honestly only remember it fondly. And then I’m glad that’s what they chose for you to ask me about,” he joked. “It’s made me comfortable, actually. I’m serious!” Find out which actors almost passed on iconic roles. Watch him explain the experience…
