EC3 is trying to make a unique world title defense happen.

The NWA World Heavyweight Champion recently spoke with Dominic DeAngelo of 1 True Sport. During the conversation, DeAngelo asked EC3 if there was an update on his desire to defend his title in Uganda.

EC3 previously told WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard that he was interested in competing for Uganda’s Soft Ground Wrestling. EC3 told WrestleZone that he not only wanted to compete there, but he wants to do it in their mud pits (and he’ll wear his PPV gear).

“I really want to get into those mud pits. Wrestling with the no ropes. I believe Cody bought them a ring though,” EC3 explained to WrestleZone. “I want to get there before the ring shows up. I am 100% putting that into the atmosphere and manifesting that I do want to do that. But I mean, anywhere, in the… this dimension of Earth. I’ll defend it in Africa.”

EC3’s update on Uganda

Now, he told DeAngelo that they’ve been in contact. EC3 says they need to figure out the financial aspects of a trip like that, but he’s determined to make it happen.

“Yes. Here’s the thing — obviously NWA can’t fund me to go to Uganda. Obviously, Uganda SoftStyle isn’t a wealth of financial means,” EC3 said.

He pointed out that one option could be if SGW picked a challenger that had a great story, and a crowdfunding effort could help. He’s not sure how it happens, but it will happen.

“I would do it in a heartbeat. So yes, there’s been contact and I’m trying to figure out how to make that happen. So, whether a wealthy investor wants to fund it or not, or we crowdfund it, I don’t know,” EC3 stated. “But it’s going to go down.”
