The England team v Finland has now been named.

Lee Carsley taking charge of his fourth game.

He had overseen a very good start in ‘interim’ charge.

England having won 2-0 against both the Republic of Ireland (away) and Finland (home) in the September internationals.

With Lee Carsley looking set to become the permanent choice surely, with what looked a comfortable six game audition in this second tier Nations League group.

However, these last few days have been a whirlwind.

The 2-1 defeat to Greece and the (interim) manager using a false nine set-up, seeing a complete meltdown with the media.

Media claims that Lee Carsley doesn’t even want the job (hassle) now.

Thomas Tuchel now odds on favourite amid other media claims of him having held talks with The FA.

What a mess!

The FA shouldn’t have bottled it, all they needed to do was name a permanent new boss after Southgate stepped down.

Anyway, this is Lee Carsley’s latest and possibly final (senior) England team selection…

England team v Finland:

Henderson, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Alexander-Arnold, Rice, Gomes, Palmer, Bellingham, Grealish, Kane

Lee Carsley with six changes!!!

(England team v Greece in that 2-1 defeat – Pickford, Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Colwill, Lewis, Rice, Bellingham, Saka, Palmer, Foden, Gordon)

Nick Pope, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento all on the bench.

England confirmed schedule to end of 2024:

Saturday 7 September – Republic of Ireland 0 England 2

Tuesday 10 September – England 2 Finland 0

Thursday 10 October – England 1 Greece 2

Sunday 13 October – Finland v England
