Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is known for making films for niche audiences. His movies are raw, real and sometimes even dark. Seeing that kind of movie, fans and people in the industry have a different perception towards him. People have a different image about the director. Speaking about the same, Anurag revealed that when people meet him for the first time, they feel scared. Moreover, he also shared that people think he smokes up or he is a psycho.
Anurag Kashyap talks about people’s perception towards villains
Since he is playing a negative character, Kashyap was asked to comment on people’s perceptions towards actors who play villains. He exclusively told Bollywood Bubble, “Bohot actors ka nuksaan hua hai. Like Rajat Kapoor ka Monsoon wedding ke baad, log apne bacche ko dur kheech lete the. One of the nicest people in the industry who played the most number of rapists onscreen is Ranjeet saab. Anurag Kashyap on people’s perception towards his style of filmmaking
Talking about his movies, he said, “Main Jaisi filmein banata hu, logon ko lagta hai ki main ganja phoonkta hu. Logon ne aake gift kiya mereko toh main kehta hu ‘tumhe aisa kyu lag raha hai?’ Main kya karta hu mujhe pata hai, main whiskey peeta hu pata hai, main kabhi deny nahi karta. Logon ko lagta hai main psycho hu kyuki main aisi filmein banata hu. Toh log jab pehele baar milte hai toh wo darre huye rehte hai. Jab koi actor aata hai toh bolte hai, ‘Maine socha tha ki koi kone mein baitha hoga, aisa daravna sa’. Aur jab koi actor peheli baar mere set pe aata hai, they have always called other directors or people who have worked with me and ask ‘Ye set pe daanta toh nahi hai? Strict toh nahi hai’? Because ye perception hai jo banaya hua hai, jabki main bilkul bhi nahi hu.
