Emraan talks about his ‘serial kisser’ tag

When asked if his 14-year-old son has seen any of his work, Emraan responded saying, “Not those films. Hell no. He’ll hate me for it (laughs).”

When asked how he deals with the tag, Emraan said, “I don’t deal with it. It comes out in a question or two here and there. It’s like one of those running jokes that trends sometimes with a few people. But I think people who have followed my career and the fans have have always known back then also that there was more to it than just this. I think the people who it kind of sticks with are the people who have not seen my films. It’s that surface tag that they have seen and they’ve not ventured out to actually getting to know the actor behind it or going through the filmography. So, it becomes a catchphrase.”

Emraan added, “Catchphrases are always cool to kind of address and tag someone with because it gets a few laughs. But to the people who matter it doesn’t really because they’ve followed my work and I’ve always been trying to give out some new stuff to them and they’re enjoying it thoroughly. I’m enjoying the work that I’ve always been doing. At one point, I was really proud of the stuff I was doing. I was playing up to an image also. I was reaping the benefits. There were successes because of that image. People went and bought film tickets because of that image. I was the only one who was probably blessed or unfortunate to have that image but it was just something that this surreal way worked for me. So, that’s what it is.”
