FC Barcelona have made a terrific start to the season under new manager Hansi Flick, registering four wins in four La Liga matches.

One of the players who have been integral to this strong start is veteran superstar Robert Lewandowski, who is showing signs of being back to his best after an up-and-down last season.

The veteran Polish striker has already scored four goals in four matches and also has an assist to his name.

Amidst all this though, reports emerged recently suggesting that Lewandowski’s relationship with the rest of the Barcelona locker room has had its ups and downs.

Indeed, it was reported that the 36-year-old has had some issues in the dressing room which may have been a reason behind him not being elected captain.

Fake news says Romano

However, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has dismissed those rumours, terming the suggestions that Lewandowski was a disruptive presence in the Barcelona dressing room as fake.

“Sticking with Barcelona, I’ve zero information on the rumours in Spanish media that Robert Lewandowski is a disruptive presence in the dressing room,” he said on his Daily Briefing via Caught Offside.

“To be honest, I don’t know where this is coming from but it’s absolutely fake news.”

Not stopping there, Romano further added that Lewandowski is very popular in the dressing room and has a strong relationship with everyone at Barcelona.

“Lewandowski is super popular in the dressing room, he’s a super professional, never had any fights with his team-mates, never creating problems with the staff…,” remarked Romano.

“Lewandowski has a very good relationship with everyone at the club.”

Lewandowski’s current contract with Barcelona expires in 2025, although there is a clause in the agreement that would see an automatic one-year extension being triggered if he plays a certain number of matches this season.
