Fans are mocking Normani after her publicist reportedly asked an interviewer to skip over a question about how closely she’s involved with her fan account, Normani Nation.

“this is so embarrassing. oh my god,” one fan wrote on X alongside an excerpt from the interview, which was published Wednesday by the Cut.

“i don’t think i can ever take her seriously again after this 😭,” another fan chimed in, while a third added, “oh she got caught red handed 😭.”

A fourth shocked X user quipped, “i cant be mad, self love is the best love, she jus gotta learn how to lie better … 😭.”

While some fans defended Normani, 27, others reasoned that she should come forward if she does in fact run her own fan account instead of hiding it.

The uproar came after the Cut asked the star about how closely she’s linked to her fan page. According to the article, she “calmly” admitted she’s “definitely heavily involved.”

However, her publicist reportedly inserted herself into the conversation by saying, “Yeah, I think we can skip this question.”

Speculation over the former Fifth Harmony member’s proximity to Normani Nation ignited earlier this year when the page posted a screenshot of her recently cleared Instagram account with the caption, “WHAT IS HAPPENING.”

Fans quickly noticed the screenshot was taken by someone seemingly logged into the star’s verified Instagram page, leading them to wonder if Normani was behind the account.

She revealed the title earlier this year and dropped its lead single, “1:59,” last week.

“I could’ve put three albums out by now in that duration. I’m not oblivious to that,” she told the Cut about her project’s delayed release.

“But I felt like I owed it to myself to be able to take my time, and reinvent, and be experimental.”

There is also chatter about Normani being involved in a Fifth Harmony reunion with bandmates Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Camila Cabello.

A person close to the musicians told Page Six in March they plan to release a song for fans and specifically noted it would not interfere with Normani or Cabello’s upcoming releases.
