EXCLUSIVE: Faran Tahir (Iron Man, Star Trek) will appear in the Paul Bettany-led series Vision Quest, a WandaVision spinoff series for Disney+, sources confirm to Deadline.

Tahir will reprise the role of the villainous Raza, the leader of the terrorist organization the 10 Rings who tried to kill Tony Stark in Iron Man.

Details are scarce on the new project, but as we previously reported, the Marvel Vision spinoff has been in development at Disney+ since 2022 and was picked up to series in May. It is believed to be centered on Vision (Bettany) as he tries to regain his memory and humanity. After Thanos killed him in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, Vision returned in 2021’s WandaVision.

In addition to Bettany returning to the role he has played in three Marvel films and WandaVision, James Spader will reprise his MCU role of Ultron. Todd Stashwick will also appear in an undisclosed role.

Star Trek: Picard EP Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner on the new series.

Tahir is an actor, producer, writer, and director whose credits include Iron Man, Star Trek, Elysium, and Escape Plan. Most recently, Tahir starred in multiple films in three different languages: Paper Flowers (English), The Martial Artist (English), The Window (English), Umro Ayyar (Urdu), Rawalpindi Express (Urdu & Punjabi), Inspector Jamshed (English & Urdu) and Coup!

His TV credits include FX’s The Old Man, Syfy’s 12 Monkeys, ABC’s Scandal, Fox’s Prison Break, Once Upon a Time and American Crime for ABC with guest lead appearances on the CW’s Supergirl, CBS’ Criminal Minds, ABC’s Elementary and the Spader-led drama series The Blacklist.

On stage, he was recently seen on Broadway in The Kite Runner.

Tahir was awarded the Voices of Courage and Conscience Award from the Muslim Public Affairs Council in 2011. He is repped by Greene Talent and attorney Mark S. Temple.
