In a little over two hours, Barcelona step out on the field to take on Rayo Vallecano at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in the penultimate matchweek of the 2023/24 La Liga season.

With the season drawing towards an end, tonight’s encounter could very well prove to be a final opportunity for a few Barça players to say goodbye to the club faithful on their home turf.

After all, with the Catalans staring at a crucial summer transfer window, several players are likely to be on their way out of the club before the next campaign kicks off.

Here are five such players who might be playing their final home match for Barcelona as they could be on their way out this summer.

Joao Felix

Not very long ago, it was taken for granted that Joao Felix will continue at Barcelona next season, either on loan or even permanently. However, with each passing day, the chances of that happening are diminishing.

The Portuguese ace has not been consistent enough this season and given the Catalans’ financial situation, they are not entirely convinced about making an effort to retain him. As such, tonight could end up being a farewell for Joao Felix.

Vitor Roque

It has been less than five months since Vitor Roque arrived at Barcelona, but the 19-year-old could already be on the move come summer, with Xavi seemingly not trusting the young striker enough.

Indeed, game-time has been extremely hard to come by for Roque and his agent, Andre Cury, has hinted that they might seek a permanent exit this summer instead of a loan move. If a good offer comes along, Barça might not stand in the way of a departure.

Oriol Romeu

Another of last summer’s signings, Oriol Romeu enjoyed a solid start to his second stint at Barcelona only to see his form and stature in the team tumble midway through the season.

Having become almost an afterthought at the club, Romeu is expected to leave at the end of the campaign, with a return to Girona on the cards. As for Barça, they already have a replacement lined up in the form of Guido Rodriguez.

Joao Cancelo

Like Joao Felix, his compatriot Joao Cancelo also stares at an uncertain future and may well be playing his final home game in Barcelona colours. On loan from Manchester City, the right-back has done fairly well, although his mistakes in crucial games have cost Barça.

As such, there are doubts over his continuity, with the Blaugrana only willing to consider keeping him if the terms of the deal with Man City are favourable, which seems a difficult prospect at the moment.

Marcos Alonso

The veteran defender has endured a difficult campaign during which he has hardly played, partly due to injuries. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Barcelona have no plans of renewing Marcos Alonso and he is certain to be on his way out.

Having arrived from Chelsea in 2022, Alonso enjoyed a decent run last season under Xavi and could continue in La Liga next term with Atletico Madrid understood to be interested in signing him for free.
