EXCLUSIVE: Independent producers Floriane Andersen, Marianne Bourg, Yessi Sanchez, and Nina Seul have announced the launch of Artak Pictures, a new U.S.-based production company committed to fostering fresh voices and innovation in today’s entertainment landscape.

With roots in France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Germany, the producing quartet are part of the next wave of European talent with ambitions to make a global impact. Their company is set to debut three feature films in 2025, all from first-time female directors: Julia Stiles’ romantic drama Wish You Were Here, Julie Pacino’s psychological thriller I Live Here Now, and Perfect from music video maestro Millicent Hailes.

A romantic drama based on Renée Carlino’s bestselling novel of the same name, Wish You Were Here will be released by Lionsgate on January 17. Isabelle Fuhrman, Mena Massoud, Jennifer Grey, and Kelsey Grammer star. Utopia is handling worldwide sales and distribution for I Live Here Now, which stars Lucy Fry, Madeline Brewer, comedian Matt Rife, and Sheryl Lee. An exploration of a tangled love triangle that’s currently in post, Perfect stars Julia Fox, Ashley Moore, Kate Moennig, and Creed Bratton.

Projects in development at Artak include Wilde Versus England, a period drama chronicling Oscar Wilde’s tumultuous final years, directed by Laurent Boutonnat (Giorgino), in co-production with RNB Films; Adverse Effects, a thriller by Michael Carnick that follows a disabled man (Breaking Bad‘s RJ Mitte) who uncovers unethical practices at a pharmaceutical company; and Baby Moon, a drama about motherhood directed by Courtney Hope Therond (A Time Apart). Zach Tinker (Days of Our Lives, American Horror Story) is attached to star in the latter.

Additional projects will include a WWI-era reimagining of Shakespeare’s Henry V in collaboration with Antic Disposition; dark comedy RATtled, written and directed by Andersen; and Bunkered, a social satire series created by JC Louis, with Erin Brown Thomas (the filmmaker behind Chasers, a 2025 Sundance episodic selection) set to direct.

“Creating Artak came naturally as the four of us have a lot in common,” said Bourg in a statement to Deadline on the company’s launch. “We started out in front of the camera, left Europe to pursue our dreams in L.A., and most importantly, share the goal of empowering underrepresented voices and bringing them to the forefront of cinematic storytelling.”

“By developing and producing projects that transcend borders,” Andersen added, “we strive to bridge the gap between the U.S. and Europe. With a growing slate of projects, our mission is to reshape the cinematic landscape with stories that resonate with global audiences.”
