In a marked departure from the frenetic pace of coaching Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez has resurfaced publicly, albeit briefly, since his departure from the club.

Following his last game as Blaugrana coach, Xavi chose to maintain a low profile away from the media spotlight.

However, he recently emerged to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Spain’s Under 20 World Cup victory in 1999. He was part of the team that took on EFA Veterans in a charity match.

During the match, Xavi was notably asked about Joan Laporta, to which the former Barcelona coach issued a cold response.

Xavi to take a break

Nevertheless, all eyes remain on Xavi as he chooses his next destination. But as things stand, the Spaniard is tilting towards a sabbatical.

Despite the speculation swirling around his next move, Xavi remains resolute in his decision to take a sabbatical year, reports Diario SPORT.

The report adds that despite overtures from several clubs, Xavi is intent on stepping away from the bench to rejuvenate and recharge after the pressures of the past two and a half years.

While he refrained from addressing his departure from FC Barcelona publicly, Xavi’s focus seems to be on the future.

Xavi eyeing a move to England

Among Xavi’s future plans is a desire to venture into coaching in the Premier League. The allure of the English top flight presents an enticing prospect for Xavi, who seeks an intriguing project in one of the best leagues in the world.

As the football world eagerly awaits his next move, Xavi Hernandez remains a figure of intrigue and speculation.

For the time being, though, Xavi is focusing on a much-needed break. While the Premier League is certainly an option, one would expect the Spaniard to be open to other opportunities across Europe as well.
