About five or six years ago, Carles Alena was believed to be one of the biggest talents coming out of La Masia.

The young midfielder made his debut for Barcelona in 2018, but he was never able to fulfil his potential. Alena left Barça permanently in 2021, joining Getafe for a fee of €5 million.

Since then, Alena has established himself as a key player for Getafe, racking up 125 competitive appearances for the La Liga outfit.

Carles Alena does not rule out Real Madrid move

Despite being a La Masia graduate, Carles Alena has recently made a controversial statement, where the midfielder admitted he would not rule out a Real Madrid move.

Although Alena expressed his allegiance to the Cule, the Spaniard admitted he would love to play for a top club and a move to Santiago Bernabeu is something he does not rule out.

“I am culé for life, but Real Madrid is a big team and I never would say no to a club like them. It is a big club and I always have said that I want to play in a big team,” Alena said (h/t MARCA).

It must be noted that Carles Alena has not been linked with a move to Real Madrid. He has simply expressed his openness to the idea of joining Los Blancos.

Nevertheless, his comments will not go down well with Barcelona faithful, especially considering the fact that the midfielder played the entirety of his youth career in La Masia.

But as mentioned earlier, Alena’s move to Real Madrid will not be a possibility anytime soon, although if the player continues to perform well at Getafe, he might earn himself a move to a bigger club in the near future.
