The Rock’s recent appearance in WWE leading up to WrestleMania 40 created tons of buzz and excitement and it lead to him teaming up with Roman Reigns and wrestle against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. His return wasn’t without controversy, especially the delay in WrestleMania 40’s documentary and it appears an ex-WWE star believes the delay was done for a reason.

Initially, it was speculated that the delay in the WrestleMania 40: Behind the Curtain’s release stemmed from the extensive footage the company had to compile but reports suggested The Rock was responsible for the delay. The company finally released the documentary on YouTube few days ago.

While speaking on his Gigantic Pop podcast, former WWE star Matt Morgan commented on the documentary, describing it as “nothing special.” He noted that everything discussed in it had already been mentioned by figures like Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and Triple H.

Morgan also speculated that The Final Boss was behind the delay in releasing the documentary, suggesting it was to protect his image. He claimed that The Rock might have wanted to edit out footage of himself expressing frustration over fans booing him. The wrestling veteran further suggested that the Hollywood megastar attempted to reshape the narrative to portray himself as the savior of WrestleMania.

“It was all stuff we heard Cody say, we’ve heard Hunter say, we’ve heard Rock say. There was no new news out of this. So, it tells me they waited almost three months because they were editing some of the other more like, some of the more sizzle component of it where I’m sure they had video footage of Rock coming back going like, ‘What the f**k, they’re booing me?! What?! What kinda sh*t is this?!’ Maybe, you know, that kinda stuff.”

“I know it sounds unprofessional but that’s what I was led to believe we’d see in this documentary of a butthurt Rock selling and he did not sell. He tries to spin it and act like he saved WrestleMania.”

Ringside News has also exclusively reported additional details about The Rock’s plans to win the WWE Undisputed Championship before handing it back to Roman Reigns. In fact, The Rock manipulating rehearsal schedules for WrestleMania 40 and attempting to take undue credit for WWE’s success have already raised eyebrows within the company. Regardless, the documentary at least released and that’s all that matters.
