Manchester United are among a host of Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Trevoh Chalobah’s precarious situation at Chelsea.
While the Reds had already been linked with Chalobah at the beginning of the window, their interest is now poised to materialise after the player was omitted from Enzo Maresca’s pre-season tour squad – a decision which stunned supporters.
As reports suggest the 25-year-old is being forced out, Football Insider claims he almost certainly ‘will leave’ Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks. Whether that be in favour of a move to Old Trafford remains to be seen at this stage.
United left mulling over Chalobah pursuit
As such, INEOS’ attraction to Chalobah is largely due to his versatility; he’s able to occupy both centre-back and right-back – and with Aaron Wan-Bissaka being heavily tipped for a transfer abroad, the Blue could reinforce Ten Hag’s options.
On the other hand, it’s no secret that his injury record leaves a lot to be desired. The defender made only 17 appearances in all competitions last season due to a long-term thigh complaint. As a result, his first outing of the campaign came in February.
Chelsea value their homegrown talent, who has gone on to make 80 senior appearances, in the region of £25 million.
