Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State criticized his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday.

The Governor blasted the Minister and his loyalists revealing what he had planned to do for them. According to him, he wanted to help them by allowing them to still retain their seats before they overstepped their bound by defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, which led to their seats being declared vacant.

During a solidarity visit from the people of Ogbakor Etche in Port Harcourt, Fubara addressed Wike’s recent dancing video that circulated on social media. The video, which emerged last Monday, showed Wike dancing in a Versace blue street-style coat reportedly worth over N2 million, sparking debates and reactions from citizens concerned about extravagant spending amidst the country’s economic crisis.

Fubara, speaking to the Etche community, urged his supporters not to be misled by the actions of his political opponents, claiming that they only put on a show in public but are troubled privately.

“Don’t let anybody deceive you. They can come to the media and dance, but when they go behind, they cry,” Fubara said. “The truth is that we don’t know how to dance, but we say it the way it is and we stand tall anywhere we go.”
