The England squad numbers have been revealed.
Gareth Southgate allocating them after arriving at his final 26 man squad.
After having won 3-0 against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Monday at St James’ Park.
It was a wake up call for the England set-up as they lost 1-0 to Iceland at Wembley on Friday night.
Saturday morning seeing Gareth Southgate confirming these England squad numbers for Euro 2024:
1 Jordan Pickford
2 Kyle Walker
3 Luke Shaw
4 Declan Rice
5 John Stones
6 Marc Guéhi
7 Bukayo Saka
8 Trent Alexander-Arnold
9 Harry Kane
10 Jude Bellingham
11 Phil Foden
12 Kieran Trippier
13 Aaron Ramsdale
14 Ezri Konsa
15 Lewis Dunk
16 Conor Gallagher
17 Ivan Toney
18 Anthony Gordon
19 Ollie Watkins
20 Jarrod Bowen
21 Eberechi Eze
22 Joe Gomez
23 Dean Henderson
24 Cole Palmer
25 Adam Wharton
26 Kobbie Mainoo
If we assume the England squad numbers are in preferential order, with 1-11 his ideal line-up, then Gareth Southgate would ideally like to play this starting eleven:
Pickford
Walker, Stones, Guehi, Shaw
Rice, Alexander-Arnold
Saka, Bellingham, Foden
Kane
As you can see, Newcastle United duo Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon are numbers 12 and 18 respectively.
With Luke Shaw’s injury issues, it looks all but certain that Trippier will start against Serbia in eight days time, whilst interesting to see what plans Gareth Southgate has for Gordon.
