Gary Neville to visit India in aid of grassroots football programme

Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville will visit India to help push a grassroots football programme and motivate the young kids playing football in the country.

The ex-United captain is considered as one of the greatest right-backs to have played for England, winning eight Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues for the Reds.

Neville will be present in the finale of the fourth edition of Apollo Tyres flagship grassroots football programme. The edition is called United We Play and it will be held in Chandigrah on October 18, 2024.

The grassroots initiative is supported by United to encourage young football talent across the world. It provides a platform to showcase their skills and maybe lead to one day getting spotted by scouts.

Neville will be celebrated by the many United fans who live in India, like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who received a hero’s welcome when he visited the country.

After spending almost 20 years with the club, making 602 appearances, Neville is considered a legend at his boyhood club. He lived the dream of millions.
