In the last few seasons, Barcelona have seen a significant generational shift within the squad.
Over the years, younger players have stepped up, forming a tightly-knit group. This unity is evident both on and off the field, and fans can get a glimpse of it through the documentary ‘The Next Generation’ broadcast by Barça One.
The documentary showcases the bond that has developed among these emerging talents, highlighting how they are growing together and adapting to the challenges of top-tier football.
The viral conversation
One particular segment from the documentary has garnered a lot of attention, capturing a casual conversation between the young homegrown players who were part of the first team during the previous season.

The players talk about their evolving physiques, comparing their experiences of building muscle and growing stronger.
“You can see the physique when one is 30 and the other is growing, but if you don’t have the talent,” said Gavi while initiating the conversation.
They joke about who has developed the most and how that physical transformation plays a role in their game. Lamine Yamal, for example, is mentioned for gaining 7kg of muscle in just two months.
“Lamine is very strong, he has gained 7kg of muscle in two months,” Inaki Pena said.
The group laughs and comments on their individual growth spurts, showing the lighter side of life as a professional footballer while acknowledging the hard work involved.
“Let them clash here, let them collide,” said Yamal while pointing to his arm.
Gavi’s special mention

“The one who has changed the most physically is Fermin. He was a dwarf and now the b*****d is big; now, I eat just the same,” he said.
Fermin took the stage and then said, “Balde has been like this since he was a child.”
To this, the full-back replied, “African, brother, genetics.” The banter between them reflects the friendly competition within the squad, as each player pushes themselves and their teammates to be the best versions of themselves.
