Keep it in the family. According to social media, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg’s son, Gage, has officially committed to a collegiate football program. But where will the linebacker end up playing?

He will head to the University of Colorado and play for Coach Prime, Deion Sanders. He wrote the following on social media:

“After a great conversation, I am honored to announce that I am committing to the University of Colorado to continue my football and academic career!!!”

From ESPN:

The 215-pound linebacker from Boerne, Texas, was initially committed to Alabama as a preferred walk-on. He would’ve had a spot on the team, but he would not have been on scholarship.

Once Nick Saban announced his retirement, however, Gage Goldberg flipped his commitment to Colorado and head coach Deion Sanders and will walk on for the Buffs in 2024.

The family already had a connection to Sanders, as Bill Goldberg played college football at Georgia and then in the NFL with Sanders and the Atlanta Falcons. The elder Goldberg played defensive tackle and had a six-year career before joining professional wrestling.

Gage was a first-team all-district 12-5A player in Texas this season and is just the seventh high school prospect to join Colorado’s 2024 recruiting class.

Editor’s Opinion:

This is awesome! As a proud graduate of the University of Colorado, I love what Coach Prime is doing. Having another family superstar around will bring more attention to what they are doing in Boulder and it seems to be a match made in heaven!
