KANSIEC Chairman, Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi, confirmed the results on Saturday evening, and all elected officials received their certificates of return on Sunday.

The main opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as about 10 other political parties boycotted the exercise.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Yusuf urged the newly elected chairmen and councillors to serve their communities with fairness, integrity, and dedication. He encouraged them to be exemplary leaders and ambassadors for Kano State and the NNPP, emphasising the importance of service to humanity.
Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to Kano residents for their peaceful participation in the election, saying, “We thank the people of Kano for voting in an orderly and peaceful manner. We have never witnessed such a peaceful election.”
He advised the chairmen and councillors to focus on projects that address essential needs, particularly in education, agriculture, and healthcare, with a focus on supporting women. “Ensure you come up with meaningful projects, help the needy, and meet the critical needs of your communities,” Yusuf said.
The governor also urged them to reform and upgrade their local government secretariats to reflect the standard expected of executive bodies. He called for inclusive leadership that transcends party affiliations.
Governor Yusuf pledged ongoing state government support and assured that officials would monitor local projects to ensure adherence to commitments.
