The former coaches of OL and OM are both coveted by the same club.
Fabio Grosso and Gennaro Gattuso may have missed their time in Ligue 1, on the benches of OL and OM respectively, they still remain popular in their country. A Serie A team is currently looking to sign one of the two.
The club in question is Sassuolo. According to Gianluca Di Marizo, the two 2006 world champions would therefore be competing to sit on the Neroverdi bench next June. The idea is to build a long-term project and also get back to the top of the Calcio table.
Gattuso and Grosso back on a Serie A bench?
Another technician is also cited for the position. This is Davide Possanzini. Former right-hand man of Roberto De Zerbi, he had already spent time with this team between 2018 and 2021. It was as assistant coach.
Sassuolo fired Alessio Dionisi after the misstep against Empli. The latter remained with the club for three years. The team will now try to avoid the descent to Serie B. Currently, they have the same points total as the first relegable, Hellas Verona.
