The Undertaker concluded his three-decade-long wrestling career in 2020. However, The Phenom still keeps an eye on ongoing WWE product as well as the emerging superstars that are making a huge impact on the business.
One of the superstars that are very high on The Undertaker’s list is none other than GUNTHER. The Ring General has cemented himself as a dominant force with his record-setting reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Moreover, he continued to gain momentum even after the end of his title reign by defeating Randy Orton in the final round of the King of the Ring tournament to claim the prestigious accolade.
In a recent conversation with Chris Van Vliet on his own podcast, “Six Feet Under“, The Undertaker had massive praise for GUNTHER, labelling him as his “Guy.” He also revealed that his son, Colt, was fascinated by him. Moreover, Taker applauded GUNTHER’s ability to tell a story and work in the ring effectively.
“GUNTHER is my guy…two years ago he had about a 10-minute conversation with my little boy. My little boy is fascinated by him. Colt is fascinated by him. They had a conversation out of the clear blue and he sat there and just talked to him. That’s not why he’s my guy. He’s my guy because he knows how to work and tell a story. I’m real high on him.”
Moreover, GUNTHER’s King of the Ring victory has guaranteed him a World Championship match at WWE SummerSlam 2024 coming up this summer. So it will be interesting to see if he is able to ascend to the next level and capture his first World Title at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
Do you think The Undertaker has backed the right WWE superstar to become the next big thing in the business? Will GUNTHER become the next World Champion at SummerSlam? Sound off in the comments!
