Gunther says he doesn’t know if fans will see Brock Lesnar in WWE again.

The road to WrestleMania 40 is heating up, and Gunther continues to reign supreme as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Previously, he has made it clear that facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania was his dream match. However, plans for Lesnar have reportedly been nixed, as he was implicated in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. In the lawsuit, Grant alleged that McMahon used her in a sexual way in an attempt to convince a former UFC Heavyweight Champion to sign a new contract.

Speaking with GVWire, Gunther was asked to name his WrestleMania dream match. He brought up Lesnar and noted that he was not sure whether he will return to WWE.

“Obviously I always was vocal about my dream match in the past, but that fell through now,” Gunther said. “I don’t know if we’re gonna see Brock again, if that’s ever gonna happen. But I’m wide-open when it comes to that as of now.

“I think I’m in a position where people need to chase me. People want to challenge me for the championship. That’s just the mindset I have when it comes to that right now. I don’t really stress about who I’m gonna be facing at WrestleMania. It’s not really on my mind.”

Gunther is set to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso on the February 19 episode of WWE RAW. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
