This January 18, 2024 marks a somewhat special anniversary for Erling Haaland: that of his thunderous debut in the Bundesliga, with a hat-trick in twenty minutes.
Revealed at RB Salzburg before taking on a new dimension in the Borussia Dortmung jersey, Erling Haaland reached a new milestone by landing at Manchester City in the summer of 2022. Author of an extraordinary first season in the Cityzens jersey, the Norwegian giant was not its first attempt at completely crazy beginnings. Four years ago today, the man who has since inherited the nickname “cyborg” stood out during his first steps in the Bundesliga.
On January 18, 2020, after having just been purchased for twenty million euros by Dortmund a few days earlier, Erling Haaland was launched into the deep end. And not in the best of contexts since his team is led by Augsburg (3-2). But when he comes on in place of Jadon Sancho, shortly before the hour mark, the Norwegian phenomenon shows all his talent. Three minutes after appearing on the pitch, Haaland scored for the first time (59th). Then a second, ten minutes later. And yet a third in the 79th minute.

The Bundesliga has not forgotten
A fiery hat-trick in the space of twenty minutes for his very first match with the BvB. A real coup that has remained in the memories. And in particular that of the Bundesliga which did not fail to send a wink this Thursday, with a publication on social networks to celebrate this famous hat-trick. Erling Haaland was quick to relay this on his own account.
