‘Hacks’ Co-Creator Paul W. Downs At Critics Choice Awards Calls For More Productions To Be Shot In L.A.

Winning Best Comedy Series at the Critics Choice tonight, Hacks co-creator Paul W. Downs told the tent at the Santa Monica Barker Hanger that “we need to ask to shoot our shows in L.A.”.

“The people in the room have the power to make it happen,” he said.

The HBO Max series is largely shot in Las Vegas, NV, as the series takes place there.

Variety reported when the fires broke out that filming permit applications dropped in LA.

Shrinking star and music supervisor Christa Miller also said on social recently that season 3 of the AppleTV+ series will continue production in Pasadena and Altadena, where it has always been shot. For Miller, it was important that the production stay in Altadena which was devastated by the Eaton wildfire.
