Hansi Flick praises Barcelona prodigy: “What I see in training is truly incredible”

After a comeback win over Valencia in the opening match, Barcelona will look to continue their winning momentum as they take on Athletic Club this evening.

Heading into this game, Lamine Yamal is likely to be one of the key players for Barcelona. The young attacking phenom notably registered a crucial assist in the first match and will look to continue his form against Athletic.

It will be particularly interesting to see how the forward stacks up against his national teammate Nico Williams.

The two had an impressive Euro 2024 campaign, where they connected brilliantly and made life difficult for the opposition. This time around, they will be taking each other on as opponents.

“Lamine Yamal? What I see from him in training is truly incredible. He helps us keep possession, which is very important. We didn’t do that well in Valencia,” Flick said about the young Barcelona forward.

The fact that Yamal has received praise from Flick for his work in training suggests he is indeed one of Barcelona’s top performers in the training ground.

The German tactician, after all, has imposed some rigorous and intense training measures since being appointed as the Barcelona coach.

Yamal appears to enjoying such a challenge and has been reacting quite well, just like the majority of the young players stemming from La Masia.

This is a positive sign for Barcelona. Knowing that their youngster are ready to get used to a completely different style of football could be a great bonus in the years to come.
