Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly set his sights on playing for Real Madrid long-term, as per Argentine reporter Gaston Edul.
He said (via AlbicelesteTalk): “Alejandro Garnacho’s dream as a player is to play for Real Madrid. Not now, but he has it clear that he wants to play for Real Madrid at one point in his career.”
The Manchester United starlet is enjoying his most prolific campaign to date after cementing a place in Erik ten Hag’s starting 11, with his form keeping senior counterpart Antony on the bench.
His contributions this term have also proved vital to the Reds’ season; seven goals and four assists in 38 appearances are pretty remarkable numbers considering he only broke into the first-team last season.
Alas, the Madrid native, 19, seemingly dreams of donning the famous white of Los Blancos at some stage in his career – despite his previous links to cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid, where he spent five years before making the switch to Manchester in 2020.
Garnacho’s development is undoubtedly on an upward trajectory, so the only way United could potentially soften the blow – if it comes – is by attaching a costly price tag to their academy graduate to ensure they get their money’s worth.
