IMG Credit: WWEThat’s a long time. There are certain injuries that leave a wrestler on the sidelines for a little while, but unfortunately there are others which keep them out of action for much longer. Those injuries can occasionally end someone’s career for good and unfortunately they often come out of nowhere. That is what we saw take place a few years back and now the update isn’t the most positive.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Got It: Major Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite
On March 11, 2022, Big E. suffered a broken neck during a match on SmackDown and has not returned to the ring since. Big E. spoke with Getting Over about his health status and revealed that while he has no pain or weakness etc., his C1 is healing fibrously, meaning that it is not forming new bone. Until the bone begins to ossify, he will not be cleared to return to the ring. Big E. also revealed he had recently gone to Mexico to undergo stem cell treatment. There is no word on when Big E., 38, could return to the ring.
It’s been a great career. Check out Big E.’s time in WWE:
Opinion: There isn’t much else to be said here, as that is the kind of an injury that you do not see very often and it isn’t something that is going to be ignored for the sake of getting him back in the ring. Big E. has already had a Hall Of Fame level career and that is not going to change if he never gets back in the ring. I’m not sure if he will ever wrestle again, but there is a good chance that he stays in WWE in one way or another.
