EXCLUSIVE: Gordon Ramsay‘s Hell’s Kitchen is moving home.
The Fox hit, which turns 20 next year, has been handed a seasons 23 and 24 renewal and a rejig with a move to a fresh studio in Connecticut.
The new seasons will be filmed in the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, where one of Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurants opened last year. The move is a landmark as it is the first time a new set has been custom-built on property. The series has tended to be shot in LA although Seasons 19 and 20 were made out of Vegas.
In Hell’s Kitchen, which was Fox favorite Ramsay’s first show for the network in 2005 and will cross the 350-episode mark after these seasons, aspiring chefs from across the restaurant industry are put through an intense culinary academy to prove to Ramsay they have the talent and tenacity to come out on top. Only those who can take the searing heat will continue to compete each week, until one prevails as the winner. At stake is a life-changing grand prize, including claiming a chef position at one of Ramsay’s own renowned restaurants across the country.
“As my very first show on Fox, Hell’s Kitchen holds a very special place in my heart and it’s incredibly gratifying to have it renewed for its 23rd and 24th seasons,” said Ramsay. “This show just keeps getting better and better, and with Fox, ITV and A. Smith & Co. as my partners, you can expect even bigger challenges, stronger talent and more intense competition in Hell’s Kitchen in the years to come.”
Foxwoods CEO Jason Guyot said: “Gordon Ramsay’s fiery star power set against the backdrop of Foxwoods’ stunning property guarantees that the next two seasons of Fox’s show will deliver an unparalleled culinary showdown and viewing experience for Hell’s Kitchen fans.”
Hell’s Kitchen is produced by ITV America’s ITV Entertainment in association with A. Smith & Co. Productions. Ramsay, Arthur Smith, Kent Weed, Kenny Rosen and Bernie Schaeffer serve as executive producers.
Ramsay hosts a number of franchises as part of his wide-ranging deal with Fox. Deadline revealed earlier this month that Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars had been renewed for a second season and was also moving filming, from California to the UK.
