Although it has already acquired the services of Ulisses Garcia, recruited from Young Boys of Bern, Olympique de Marseille is not yet satisfied and continues to scrutinize the transfer market to strengthen the left lane of its rearguard. With the departure of Renan Lodi for Saudi Arabia, the Marseille club activated the track leading to Josh Doig. But despite an agreement reached with the Scottish defender, OM was forced to abandon negotiations with Hellas Verona.

Eager to pack up, the 21-year-old will however stay in Italy. According to information reported by Sky Italia, the residents of the Marcantonio-Bentegodi stadium have accelerated talks with Sassuolo and are on the verge of reaching an agreement for a transfer of €6 million plus €1 million in bonus. In exchange, the Veronese club should retain 10% of the Scot’s rights on a future resale.
