High Court instructs Central government to take action on phone-tapping complaint filed by BRS

The Telangana High Court’s single bench directed government officials to address a complaint from the BRS party regarding “phone-tapping” video content on YouTube. The court disposed of the case after reviewing the petition filed by the BRS general secretary, M Sreenivas Reddy, seeking removal of defamatory videos.

In a separate case, the High Court set aside the election of BRS MLC Vittal Dande on the grounds of forged signatures on nomination papers. The petitioner, Pathireddy Rajeshwar Reddy, alleged that Dande’s victory was achieved through fraudulent means. The court ruled in favor of the petitioner, imposing a fine of Rs. 50,000 on Dande.

Furthermore, the High Court heard a writ filed by members of the TPCC Social Media Cell seeking a stay on notices issued by the SHO, Special Cell, Delhi. The petitioners were accused of circulating morphed videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The court directed the SHO to act in accordance with the law and adjourned the case until after the summer vacation.
