Ligue 1 has never filled its stadiums as full as this season. Despite a season marked by incidents between supporters, attendances have never been so high according to LFP figures. In total, Ligue 1 attracted 8.27 million people to its 305 matches, which equates to an average of 27,113 spectators per match. The progression is very significant this year, marked by the increase to 18 clubs. There is an increase of 14% compared to last year. As every year, the big cities are good students. The Vélodrome is by far the stadium which welcomed the most spectators with an average of 60,799 (92% full). The Marseillais are followed by the Parisians, with an average of 47,373 (99%) and the Lyonnais, with 45,379 (78%).
The worst attendances are in Clermont, with an average of 9,772 spectators, but an occupancy rate of 91% (the Gabriel-Montpied stadium being under construction). The poor student remains AS Monaco with an average of 7,587 spectators and only 46% occupancy rate at the Louis-II stadium. The teams which recorded the greatest progress are the two teams which moved up from Ligue 2, with +75% for Le Havre AC and +51% for FC Metz. Stade Brestois 29 (+15%) and Stade de Reims (+14%) also capitalized on their season.
