Hulk Hogan is a big fan of CM Punk.
The pair have never shared the ring, and haven’t ever been eye to eye either. The former AEW Champion has constantly referenced the fact he doesn’t like Hulk Hogan, although the WWE Hall of Famer has not returned that particular favor.
Hulk Hogan spoke with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge, where he was asked if he is a fan of CM Punk. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he is a big fan of the former WWE Champion, calling him very believable and saying he has an “outlaw mentality”.
He also claimed that he never really met CM Punk. That is at odds with Punk’s recollection, as he said meeting Hulk Hogan made him “like him even less”.
“I am a big fan of CM Punk. I just really pray that he stays healthy, you know. I’ve never met him—had an opportunity to meet him, but I guess I missed the boat on that one. When I came back for one of the Raw shows, I was kind of out of my mind, flying back from LA with Rob Van Dam. So, I basically spent the whole night just trying to get my act together before going on camera, and CM Punk was apparently there. That was the only time I really had a chance to meet him.”
Hulk Hogan: CM Punk Has That Outlaw Mentality
Hulk Hogan continued, explaining how CM Punk has an “outlaw mentality” which helps get people on his side.
The Hulkster went on to explain how he speaks the truth that few others are brave enough to say. He called CM Punk a “truth teller”, and hopes he can stay fit and have a run that lasts for years.
“First off, he’s very believable—very believable in the ring. He just seems real, you know? CM Punk’s got that outlaw mentality, but the cool part is that he speaks the truth. He just lays it out there straight. He’s very opinionated, and a lot of people agree with his opinions. It’s the kind of stuff a lot of people are afraid to say, but he’ll say it. It’s almost like he’s a truth-teller. He really, really has it figured out, which is cool. That’s why I would love to see him stay healthy and avoid any more accidents because I’d like to see this CM Punk run last for years.”
