Hulk Hogan Points Out What Led to WCW’s Demise

The fall of WCW remains a hot topic within the wrestling community, with its demise attributed to various factors, and many people have commented on what led to its downfall. In fact, Hulk Hogan has also joined in the conversation and revealed what he believes has led to WCW’s demise.

The ”Who Killed WCW?” docuseries was produced by Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and the series premiered last month, which ended up bringing the death of WCW back into the forefront again.

While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was asked about the factors that led to the downfall of WCW. Hogan believes that the decision was purely corporate. He feels it had nothing to do with the talent or the reasons for firing people.

Instead, he feels that Ted Turner and Time Warner simply didn’t want wrestling as part of their portfolio. They preferred to focus on Turner Classic Movies for the week in their programming, maintaining a highbrow approach and not wanting a wrestling show on the network.

“I think that it was just a corporate decision. I think it had nothing to do with talent or who was fired or anything like that. I just think that big corporate Ted Turner/Time Warner just didn’t want that as part of their portfolio. They wanted Turner Classic Movies for the week in their programming. They were very highbrow as far as their approach to programming and they didn’t want a rasslin’ show on the network.”

Ironically enough, Booker T believes Hulk Hogan played key role in WCW’s demise. Nevertheless, WCW’s demise will always be a hot topic, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
