In Hyderabad, the Society to Save Rocks and Hyderabad Runners teamed up to host the annual ‘Run for Rocks’ event on Sunday. There were 125 participants who ran distances of five, 10, 20, and 28 km, starting from Ghar-e-Mubarak in Gachibowli.

The purpose of the run was to showcase the unique rocky outcrops found in Telangana and emphasize how rocky terrain benefits human physical fitness and ecological balance. The rocky sites near the twin cities are popular for cross-training activities and are used by sports trainers and defense personnel. Walking in these rocky areas provides exercise and exposure to vitamin D, promoting overall health.
