It has been a year-long wait for Cody Rhodes to once again challenge The Tribal Chief to win the Undisputed Championship and finish his story. Last year, Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and went on to wrestle Reigns but sadly, he was unable to win the match. Now, The American Nightmare shared his thoughts on how he would feel if he didn’t finish the story this time too.

Recently, Cody Rhodes was interviewed by CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri. During the said interview, The American Nightmare mentioned that if he does not finish the story then that would be nothing but failure. He welcomes the doubts from fans but he is not thinking about failure and is not doubting himself.

“Well, I guess… I wouldn’t want to… I feel like I don’t look at it from that perspective in terms of what would happen if I didn’t get to the finish line. Because ultimately, that’s a failure. It would be a failed year. And I’d hope that doesn’t come to pass. I… You could never call it. And you mentioned there being doubts in people’s minds about, ‘Will it happen?’ ‘What could potentially happen?’ Yeah, that doubt is a beautiful thing.

“And for people to take that ride with you… I doubted that Daniel Bryan could survive a match with Triple H. And then survive a Triple Threat match and get out of WrestleMania 30 how he did. But it was a marvelous moment. I don’t mind doubts at all. I just myself can’t have any, in regards to everything else that’s going on. I have to be straight and narrow as far as where I’d like to go. How I’d like to get there?” Cody Rhodes said.

Do you think Rhodes will be able to finish the story this time?
