Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo sustained a hamstring injury on September 15 during a match against Girona, where he scored a stunning goal in the Catalans’ impressive victory.

The 26-year-old’s injury was initially believed to be minor but tests revealed a hamstring issue that sidelined him for a period of four to five weeks.

Since then, Olmo has focused on his rehabilitation, aiming to return to his best form for the crucial stretch of matches in late October.

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Olmo has been working with physiotherapist Raul Martinez, with whom he previously collaborated on the Spanish national team, and has been strengthening his fitness under the guidance of Julio Tous, after missing pre-season training under him.

During the past weeks, the Spaniard has been dedicated to daily workouts at the Ciutat Esportiva, often completing double training sessions – sometimes even three sessions a day, at 9 AM, 12 PM, and 5 PM – combining physiotherapy with rehabilitation exercises.

With Barcelona facing a critical few weeks right after the international break, Olmo has laced up his boots again and reports feeling good. However, he is cautious and will not rush back into action against Alaves this weekend.

The upcoming international break will be used to complete his recovery, ensuring he is fully fit for crucial matches against Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and the derby against Espanyol.

Olmo has set his sights on the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich as his target return date.

The versatile forward, who has yet to make his European debut for Barcelona, is particularly excited about facing the Bavarian giants, who had shown interest in him since his time in Zagreb.

If his recovery continues on track, coach Hansi Flick could reintegrate him into the lineup against Sevilla, allowing Olmo to gain match rhythm ahead of the high-stakes encounters against Bayern and Real Madrid.
