Celta Vigo hosted Barcelona at the Balaidos today hoping to keep the Catalans away from the three points, as they have so successfully for about a decade at this point.
Considering the plethora of goals between these two sides always on display, not many would have expected the lifeless game that unfolded as Barcelona somehow scraped a 1-2 win, courtesy of a late penalty.
There were about four highlights in this encounter, with three of them goals. The only other notable event that unfolded was Ronald Araujo’s injury in the first-half.
The Uruguayan had to be substituted off at half-time for Inigo Martinez, which definitely must have send a scare down Barcelona fans’ spine, especially ahead of the game against Napoli in midweek.
Fortunately, Javi Miguel has reported that Araujo will be available for the Napoli clash in the Champions League on Wednesday.
He was also rested against Granada last weekend as Barcelona came away with a 3-3 draw, and was given the medical green light for today’s game.
At the end of the day, Barcelona should have both Araujo and Inigo fit and available to face Napoli, which will ideally be the best pairing Xavi can opt for.
