Interplast Limited, the leading producer of plastic pipe systems in West Africa, won two awards at the 10th Ghana Mining Industry Awards held in |Accra on Friday.
The company won the Best Performer in Local Manufacturing of Mining Inputs and the first runner up in the Best Performer in Mine Supplies and Services.
The annual programme is meant to recognise excellence and innovation in the mining sector and applaud mining companies that are keeping to high environmental standards.
Tenth in the series, the programme was on the theme: ‘Celebrating a Decade of Rewarding Mining Excellence.’
In all, 24 organisations and individuals were honoured in various categories for their outstanding performance in the mining sector and were presented with citations, plaques and cash prizes.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Interplast Limited, Sivnesh Kumar, in an interview after picking the awards, said his outfit was proud to be honoured at the 10th mining industry awards.
He said the company con¬tinued to win the best in mine supplies and services and local manufacturer of mine inputs due to the company’s focus on quality and exceptional services to clients.
Mr Kumar noted that Interplast last year also won the Best Performer in Mine Supplies and Support Services and Best Per¬former in Local Manufacturing of Mine Inputs.
Additionally, Mr Kumar indicated that Interplast Lim¬ited, established in 1970, had been consistent in producing quality products for clients and the min¬ing industry, saying, “The first pipe Interplast Limited produced is still delivering water somewhere.”
He pledged that his outfit would continue to produce quality mining inputs for the mining sector.
