Nope, a sequel to Goonies is not happening right now. Rumors began swirling last week after The Sun reported that the original cast would return for a sequel. “The plan is to start developing the ideas for the follow up next summer, with a possible release date of 2026 or 2027,” the source said. Well, multiple cast members are now speaking out to shoot down the report. What IS real is CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION AND VOTE!!!!” Corey Feldman wrote on Twitter, “2′SDAY, IS #GOONIES2 REAL?! EVERY1 IS ASKING…I CAN OFFICIALLY TELL U 100% NO! I HAV NO INFO THAT A SEQUEL IS IN THE WORX.” There was previously a sequel update back in 2014.
