The pre-wedding photos of popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke better known as Davido and his wife, Chioma have stirred a flurry of reactions on social media.
Recall, the ‘unavailable‘ crooner, via his verified Instagram handle on Sunday, released stunning pre-wedding photos ahead of his wedding on June 25th 2024.
As expected, the pre-wedding photos shut down the internet, leaving some gushing and anticipating D-Day, while others criticised the singer over the pre-wedding photos.
One of the critics, Ossai Ovie Success, one of the aide of Delta State Governor, slammed music star stating that the photos insult Igbo culture. He stressed that the singer disrespected Igbo culture with his Yoruba dress while getting married to an Igbo girl.
According to him, it is an error because, as a man, the singer should respect her culture by dressing in her own culture. He expressed how surprised he was to see the photos where Davido wore Yoruba attire despite marrying an Igbo woman.
He said, “Davido disrespected the Igbo Culture with his Yoruba dressing while getting married to an Igbo Girl.
“Davido’s pre-wedding photos is an insult to Igbo Culture .
“This is an error because as a man , when you are getting married to a woman , it’s paramount you respect her culture by dressing in her culture.
“I was surprised to see Davido’s pre-wedding photos where he wore Yoruba attire despite marrying an Igbo woman, Chioma.
“As someone who values cultural heritage, I believe it’s important to respect and honor each other’s traditions, especially on special occasions like weddings.
“In many African cultures, dressing in the bride’s cultural attire is a sign of respect and unity”.
Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate Uriel Oputa, while reacting called out those who laughed at Chioma, noting that they would be the ones watching her in adoration. Expressing happiness for Chioma, she described the bride-to-be as a peaceful person with no clout and a top-notch maturity.
She wrote; “Genuinely happy for Chioma. Such a peaceful person, 0 clout. Her maturity is 💯
“Same people laughing at her. Will be watching her in adoration. I literally feel like Tuesday should be Public holiday. Let’s not act like we didn’t see her snap back. 3 kids o. If she’s happy, she’s happy

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has congratulated her Imo sister, Chioma on her upcoming wedding to singer, Davido.
She further via her Instagram described the upcoming wedding as God’s plan, noting that Chioma is a good woman who deserves nothing but the best.
Saying a word of prayer for the couple, Sarah prayed that their marriage will blossom in love forever and always.
She wrote: “God’s plan 2024. A good woman deserves nothing but the best. Congratulations my Imo state sister @thechefchi and @davido. This marriage will blossom in love forever and always”.
