One football fan has made his feelings on a possible blue card introduction very clear, saying: "It's ruining my life".

The International Football Association Board [IFAB] has confirmed plans to partake in a sin-bin trial that will see the introduction of blue cards for players who commit cynical foul or show dissent.

In essence two blue cards would equal a red card, while a blue and a yellow card would also see a player being sent off.

FIFA released a statement confirming that the trial would not take place at a high level of football, with trials taking place 'in a responsible manner at lower levels' of the game.

With VAR and goal-line technology among the advancements made to football in recent years, it all got a bit much for one supporter of Leeds United called Terry.

Speaking to Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour on The Sports Breakfast, Terry said: "It’s Friday and I was in a great mood then I read the paper and what is going on with football?

“This sounds a bit strong, Alan, but this is ruining my life.

“Every week there’s something else – you can’t even celebrate a bloody goal! I watch Leeds United and I can’t even celebrate a goal until I know what’s happening.

“All of these rules, they are ruining the game. Who on earth is making these decisions?

“They’re not football men, are they?”

Responding to Brazil saying that at least Leeds are flying, Terry said: “Oh, it’s super. Chelsea (in the FA Cup), that’s old-school, isn’t it?

“The problem is that the game won’t be as good as it was in the 70s because you can’t do anything.

“It’s stop-start and you can’t even celebrate a goal when it goes in. It’s crackers.

“I’d love to sit with some of these people and just put the fans’ point of view over because they’re just spoiling it.

“They’re spoiling football. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just keep it as it is.”
