At full time the scenes were one of elation at the Emirates Stadium with the Arsenal players keen to soak up the joy of it all.

That included captain Odegaard, who decided to change his role for a brief moment by taking a picture of one of their club photographers, Stuart Macfarlane.

Macfarlane is something of a club cult hero after his pre-match team talk that inspired Arsenal to victory over Tottenham in September 2021 was documented in Arsenal's All or Nothing Amazon Prize series.

The watching Arsenal fans loved what they saw, however, Carragher was far from impressed.

While watching both Odegaard and Macfarlane take pictures of each other, Carragher said: "Just get down the tunnel, you've won a game.

"Three points, you've been brilliant, back in the title race. Get down the tunnel!"

Arsenal were good value for their triumph as goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard sealed the three points.

Saka put them ahead on 14 minutes when he finished on the rebound but Liverpool got level completely against the run of play following a calamitous own goal by Gabriel.

Meanwhile, Alisson didn't cover himself in glory when Trossard fired the ball through his legs in stoppage time.
