Javier Bernal has been part of the WWE family for a long time now, competing in the NXT brand, but he suffered a serious injury and has now been spotted with a walking boot.

On the June 7th episode of Level Up, Javier Bernal competed in his most recent match. Afterwards, he gave fans a major shock as he revealed that he suffered broken foot injury and that he might have to undergo surgery, putting him on the shelf for six months.

I found out the other day that I broke my foot in a few places so, you know, that sucks. Yeah, it’s kind of hard to say out loud but… let’s get through this. So, excuse me. A lot of you guys know me as Big Body Javi on television but, this is all I ever wanted to do man… That’s tough man, that’s tough (Bernal said as he became emotional while speaking about the injury) … So you guys probably saw a clip and I’m sure I’ll post a clip in the next few days. But, yeah, I broke my foot in a few places. It stinks, it is what it is. I found out — what is it? Two days ago that I broke it in a few places and initially I was told that I probably wasn’t going to need surgery but then, the next day, the M.R.I. was a little cloudy and they looked at it and it looks like I probably will have surgery on my foot. I was looking at six weeks with no surgery and from what I understand, it’s looking like six months.

The NXT Superstar took to his Twitter today and uploaded a photo of himself wearing a walking boot and crutches, as he wrote an inspirational message for his fans, embarking on his recovery journey.

”Wear your heart on your sleeve, make things hard to believe ❤️ everyone is gonna grow with me and we will be triumphant together. Let’s all make a resolution and do this together! 🤘🏽👇🏽’

Bernal, who made his WWE in-ring debut in 2022, recently partnered with Drake Morreaux in a tag team match against Chase University’s Duke Hudson and Riley Osborne on Level Up. However, Bernal’s recent injury has put his return to the squared circle on hold. Fans will have to patiently await updates on his recovery and eventual return to action.
