Jay-Z Reveals How Much Money He Lost Because of Dismissed Assault Lawsuit, Addressing Timing of Filing

Jay-Z opened up about the money that he lost because of the assault lawsuit that was filed against him in December 2024.

If you were unaware, the 55-year-old rapper was accused of sexually assaulting a minor alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. The lawsuit was dismissed last week.

However, Jay addressed the allegations in court documents that were filed days before the case was dismissed. In the documents, he took aim at the accuser’s lawyer Tony Buzbee.

“Mr. Buzbee’s actions undermined my relationship, and my company Roc Nation’s relationship, with other businesses in the sports and entertainment space. We have agreements to produce entertainment programs for certain sporting events. After Mr. Buzbee filed the lawsuit, the media reported that other businesses could end their deals with Roc Nation, and forced one to speak out and address whether these false allegations would end our business relationship,” the documents read, via Deadline.

It continued: “Immediately after Mr. Buzbee went public with his false accusations, my company Roc Nation also lost other contracts in the sports and entertainment space that would have generated revenues of approximately $20 million per year.”
